10.01.2022 Will 25-metre long truck trains arrive on Estonian roads – and when?
The concentration of heavy duty vehicles on Estonia’s roads has grown rapidly in recent years, and transport fuel prices are likely to continue to do so. In this situation, it is understandable that the expectations of transporters seeking greater efficiency in terms of allowing longer truck trains with more capacity into traffic have also increased. One of the organizations that – together with its partners – has represented transport operators interested in promising change in the dialogue with the Transport Board and its predecessor the Road Administration, is the Estonian Logistics and Freight Forwarding Association ELEA. Herkki Kitsing, a member of the ELEA board, and Kaido Mäepea, head of the direct transport department at Schenker AS, explained – complementing each other where necessary – what has been done to achieve this goal and how far we have come to date.
Why is ELEA working on this?
